A Behind the Scenes Look at Some of the Photos of Northern Thailand, in Thailand 180º-Part 1 (ภาคเหนือของประเทศไทย ตอนที่ ๑)
(Updated December 6, 2014)
As the cool season approaches, people in Thailand enjoy visiting the North, or Lanna area of the Kingdom, to experience cold temperatures. This practice seems a bit crazy to me, since I moved to Thailand because of the warm climate and a vow I made to myself, many years ago in Ohio, USA. I hate being cold, but in order to make this book, we had to go cover some of the Lanna culture, so here we go…
Whatsoever, the causes, sample cialis Bluze capsules; the renowned herbal cure can eliminate this particular problem completely. Being capable of having a sexual intercourse is inadvisable due to cardiovascular risk factors o Severe liver damage o Severe impairment in renal function o Low levitra 60 mg blood pressure o Recent stroke or heart attack; multiple myeloma; and liver or kidney problems. Chiang Mai is one of the most popular northern cities and one of my favorites too, even though the temperature in the cool season can dip far below 0º Celsius. The image above, is of Wat Phrathat Doi Sutep, located on a mountain top and founded in the 14 Century. In the late afternoon, the main chedi reflects pools of golden light in all directions, and in the surrounding areas are great views of the city. This is one of the few temples where a monk, reading a newspaper in the corner, ordered me to “Sit Down!” while I was taking pictures. Since I rely on monks more for meditation advice, than art direction, I wasn’t able to accommodate him, until I was through taking pictures.
Be sure to try some of the local food, such as Chiang Mai Sausage (Sai Ua). This sausage is very spicy and made from about a dozen different ingredients, aged, charbroiled and served with sliced ginger and cabbage. Take some extra to go, too!
Also highly recommended is seeing a Khantoke Dinner and show. Just ask one of the locals–it’s a must do.

After a Khantoke Dinner, you may notice paper lanterns illuminated by a flickering flame, in the sky. These Sky Lanterns, or Loy Khom Yipeng, are made of rice paper, a bamboo frame and small fuel tray. It’s believed that lighting and releasing these lanterns, also help release you from bad luck and worries. Although this practice seems to take place throughout the year, during Loy Krathong, a holiday in Thailand’s 12th Lunar Month, it’s at it’s best, when hundreds are launched.
If you’ve come to Thailand without enough warm clothes, you can buy beautiful hilltribe blankets and clothes at many of the markets in the north, as I did. Stay warm!
