Chinatown Gate on Yaowaraj Road, Bangkok
The Chinatown Gate in the middle of the Odeon traffic circle marks the entrance to the Chinatown of Bangkok. The gate was built in 1999 to commemorate the King’s 72nd birthday. Bangkok’s Chinatown is a popular tourist attraction and a great place for food and all things Chinese. It’s open late and packed with restaurants, food stalls, fruit vendors, Chinese herb and medicine, and tons of gold shops, filled with glittering gold trinkets in all price ranges set against a bright red fabric. Many cities around the world have Chinatowns, but you’ll want to make an effort to visit Bangkok’s own. I was pleasantly surprised at its cleanliness. The Chinese New Year festival is the perhaps the best time to visit and witness dragon dances, lion dances, traditional opera, and a sea of people dressed in red.

Guan Yin, Ang Thong
This is the fine image of Guanyin at Wat Muang, in Ang Thong. Guanyin or Goddess of Mercy was a female bodhisattva known for her compassion, in the Mahayana Buddhist. Her name is short for Guanshiyain, which means “Observing the Cries of the World”. Most westerners know Guanyin as the “Thousand Handed Goddess”. The thousand hands represent Guan Yin’s many abilities to render assistance because her help is given in a way that is literally selfless.

• ลูกประคำ,เชือก หมายถึง ความไม่ประมาท ยึดมั่นในศีล อบรมจิต ฝึกปฏิบัติอยู่เสมอ
• คัมภีร์, สมุด หมายถึง ศึกษาทบทวนพระธรรมเสมอ
• ดอกบัว หมายถึง ความใสสะอาดบริสุทธิ์
• พระแสงดาบ หมายถึง ปัญญาฆ่ากิเลส
• ฯลฯ
Dragon Descendants Museum, Suphan Buri
Due to the widespread influence of Chinese culture in Thailand, the Dragon Descendants Museum in Suphan Buri opened officially in 2008, is housed in a huge dragon building that is 35 meters high and 135 meters long. 5ooo years of Chinese history, philosophy, beliefs and their close ties with Thailand are shown within. The illusion of a huge golden dragon, floating on clouds is a sight to behold!
At first, this wasn’t on our shot list, but when we rode past it -a huge gold dragon sitting on top of clouds, I knew we had to pull over and shoot it.
