ทริปบอลลูนชมทะเลเจดีย์พุกาม สวย-แพง-ปัง-เว่อร์วังอลังการ เมียนมาร์!!
I was really nervous about my first balloon ride, but I knew it would provide great photos. Fon decided not to join me. “Someone has to live to tell the story.” she joked. At 5AM we boarded a bus and headed to the launch site. The Balloons were already being prepared when we arrived.

คุณเอ็ดเวิร์ดตื่นเต้นมาก ส่วนฝนตื่นเต้นมากกว่าค่ะ ขอเป็นกำลังใจจากภาคพื้นดินตั้งแต่วันแรกที่คุณเอ็ดเวิร์ดบอกว่าจะจองตั๋วขึ้นบอลลูนแล้ว เราคิดเยอะค่ะเพราะเรามีกันแค่สองคน ต้องบริหารความเสี่ยงหรืออะไรก็ตามที่อาจเกิดขึ้นแบบคาดการณ์ไม่ถึง! คุณเอ็ดตั้งนาฬิกาปลุกแต่ดันตื่นก่อนไก่โห่ เพราะรถบัสจะมารับไปขึ้นบอลลูนแต่เช้ามืด ฝนก็ขอติดรถไปด้วยไปด้อมๆ มองๆ สังเกตการณ์ค่ะ ไปถึงจุดที่จะขึ้นบอลลูน คนเต็มเลย! หมายถึงทีมงานค่ะ เขากำลังเตรียมจะบรรจุแก๊สเข้าไปในบอลลูน พอบรรจุแก๊สแล้วก็จะนำมาติดกับตะกร้า (พอเรียกว่า “ตะกร้า” นี่ฟังดูยังไงๆ ก็ไม่รู้ แต่เรียกตามเขาไปแล้วกัน)
We were divided into groups and then climbed into the basket. The passengers were a good mix; two from America, a few from England, and a few Italians. There was some nervous chatter and some introductions. Next, we were instructed on positions for take-off and landing, followed by some practice drills. When I saw our pilot Capt. Chris, I felt relieved. He was cool and confident with a dry sense of humor.
ในขณะที่เขากำลังบรรจุแก๊สและประกอบติดตั้งบอลลูนนั้น ส่วนต้อนรับก็มีอาหารเช้า ชาและกาแฟไว้บริการด้วยค่ะ พอบอลลูนพร้อมแล้ว กัปตันเขาก็จะเรียกผู้โดยสารที่แบ่งเป็นกลุ่มๆ เฉลี่ยจำนวนและน้ำหนักขึ้นไปในตะกร้าบอลลูน คุณเอ็ดเวิร์ดถ่ายภาพเสยมาให้ชมด้วยค่ะว่าด้านในลูกบอลลูนนั้นเป็นแบบภาพข้างล่างนี้ ส่วนบนสุดของบอลลูนจะมีวาล์วระบายอากาศค่ะ ซึ่งสามารถควบคุมปริมาณการปล่อยอากาศร้อนทำให้บอลลูนลอยต่ำลงได้ คุณเอ็ดเวิร์ดบอกว่าในกลุ่มของเขามีทั้งชาวอเมริกัน, อังกฤษ และอิตาลี ซึ่งทุกคนตื่นเต้นมากๆ จากนั้นกัปตันเขาจะสอนว่าตอนบอลลูนขึ้น-ลงต้องปฏิบัติอย่างไร รวมทั้งเมื่อเกิดสถานการณ์ฉุกเฉินต้องทำอย่างไร กัปตันของเขาเป็นมืออาชีพมาก คอยควบคุมดูแลทุกจุดด้วยความสุขุม, รอบคอบ, มีความมั่นใจ อีกทั้งยังพูดคุยเพื่อคลายความตื่นเต้นของผู้โดยสารด้วย
Capt. Chris, our pilot, gives the burners a final inspection.
The lift-off went smoothly like a well-maintained elevator. In the basket, we took turns and changed positions to get the best shots. The scenery beneath us constantly changed, alternating between rural houses, farms and temple ruins.
คุณเอ็ดเวิร์ดเล่าต่อถึงตอนบอลลูนเริ่มลอยขึ้นไป ลอยขึ้นแบบสมูธมาก แต่ละคนต่างสลับมุมกันเพื่อถ่ายภาพ ณ จุดนี้ทัศนียภาพเริ่มเปลี่ยน คือเห็นหลังคาบ้านเรือน, ทุ่งนา, และเจดีย์มากมายไกลสุดลูกหูลูกตาจรดปลายขอบฟ้าตรงแม่น้ำอิรวดีดังในภาพนี้เลยทีเดียว

The view was everything I had hoped for! The ride was quiet and smooth, providing excellent photographs. While we were flying, I found a location for another picture that I had planned to make on the ground and marked down the shot number to show our guide later on. Here!
การขึ้นบอลลูนชมทะเลเจดีย์พุกามนี้ คือ แพงมากนะคือราคาหลักหมื่นต่อคน จองล่วงหน้าหลายเดือน รวมทั้งความเสี่ยงกับบริษัทประกันภัยใดๆ ก็ไม่คุ้มครองนะคะ!! —– แต่-แต่-แต่-สวยมาก…ปังมาก…เว่อร์วังอลังการมากกกกกกกกกกกกกกกกกกก และนี่คือวิวจากมุมสูงของทะเลเจีดีย์บนโลกใบกลมแป้นใบนี้ของเรา น่าตื่นตาตื่นใจใช่มั้ยล่ะคะ?! … เจดีย์นี้คุณเอ็ดเวิร์ดเล็งไว้แล้วว่าต้องไปเก็บภาพในมุมมองของเขามาให้ได้ (((ที่สุดอ่ะผู้ชายคนนี้))) ตามไปดูภาพที่ลิ้งค์พุกาม
A look over the side 😣
Just over an hour later, the balloons landed and in our case, a bottle of champagne was popped to celebrate the journey.
And then a beautiful certificate was presented:
หลังจากขึ้นบอลลูนชมความงามของทะเลเจดีย์พุกามยามพระอาทิตย์สาดส่องแสงแรกของวัน จนผ่านไปประมาณชั่วโมงกว่า กัปตันก็ลดระดับลงจอด ณ จุดหมายปลายทาง พร้อมเสียงเปิดขวดแชมเปญฉลองและมอบใบประกาศ
