Reluctant Hotel Review: SWUTEL ~ โรงแรมสวูเทล มหาวิทยาลัยศรีนครินทรวิโรฒ
We don’t usually mention the hotels we stay at, let alone review them, but recently we found a small gem of a hotel in the heart of Bangkok that I have to mention. I’m reluctant to do this since it’s a small hotel, and if it gets discovered, I won’t be able to book a room there. On the other hand, I’ll soon be moving back to Bangkok and won’t need a hotel. Besides, good caring accommodations in a city like Bangkok are a rare breed. For the most part, the choices are the overdone five-star hotel or slightly rundown places where tourists stay, and whole floors become house parties.
เพื่อนๆ หลายคนทักว่าเดินทางไปนู่นไปนี่ ไม่เห็นรีวิวที่พักบ้างเลย.. อืม..เขาก็รีวิวกันอยู่เยอะแยะมากมาย แล้วมาตรฐานเราก็ไม่ได้ตั้งไว้สูงว่าต้อง 4-5 ดาว เราขอแค่ห้องสะอาด เงียบสงบ ปลอดบุหรี่ มีวิวสวย มีน้ำอุ่นน้ำร้อนให้อาบ แอร์ไม่ต้องหนาวเป็นขั้วโลกเหนือ … เราต้องการแค่นี้เองจริงๆ ซึ่งโรงแรมส่วนมากไม่สามารถตอบสนองความต้องการพื้นฐานที่เบสิคมากๆ แบบนี้ได้ — พูดจริงๆ ไม่ล้อเล่นค่ะ เราเลยไม่อยากเขียนบล็อกรีวิวให้กริ้วกันไป แต่ถ้าที่ไหนดีจริงเราลงแนะนำให้แบบไม่ลังเล และในที่สุดเราก็ค้นพบที่นี่ “สวูเทล” ในรั้วมหาวิทยาลัยศรีนครินทรวิโรฒ สุขุมวิท 23

I first became aware of the Swutel Hotel when we were at the Thai Indian Fun fair a few weeks ago at Srinakharinwirot University (Sukhumvit 23). Billed as a “Green University Hotel with concerns about the environment,” it occupies the 16th & 17th floors of the M.L. Pin Malakul Building. The 29 rooms are carefully managed by students studying the hospitality industry and judging by our experience; the students are all striving for excellent marks!
จริงๆ ตอนแรกโทรมาจะจองเพื่อมาพักช่วง “งานไทย-อินเดียนฟันแฟร์” แต่ห้องเต็มช่วงวันที่เราต้องการพัก พอดีต้องอยู่กทม.ต่ออีกหนึ่งวัน เลยมีโอกาสพักที่นี่หนึ่งคืน — สวูเทลเป็นสถานที่ฝึกประสบการณ์วิชาชีพสำหรับนิสิตสาขาการท่องเทียวและการโรงแรม บนชั้นที่ 16 และ 17 ของอาคารบริการ ม.ล.ปิ่น มาลากุล มีห้องพักไม่มาก แต่การันตีด้วยมาตรฐานของโรงแรม 4 ดาว และ “สวูเทลเป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อม”

SWUTEL Hotel Room
Our Superior Twin room was thoughtfully laid out, tastefully decorated, and had a great city view. The room felt spacious and uncluttered with all the amenities you’d expect, and the front desk had a long list of items they’d provide if needed. Of course, they had free wifi high-speed Internet. The thermostat on the air conditioner actually worked! .. I say this because I’ve consistently found that the a/c control in MOST places I’ve stayed in South-East Asia didn’t seem to work and by morning I was freezing. I didn’t get a chance to peek at the other room styles which include Deluxe and Exclusive suites rooms for those requiring even more space.
ห้องพักมี 3 แบบ คือ Superior 2,750++, Deluxe 3,850++ และ Exclusive Suites 4,950++ … ห้องที่เราพักเป็นแบบสุพีเรีย นี่ขนาดแค่สุพีเรียเองนะคะ คือ ห้องใหญ่และวิวดีมากกกกกกกกก.. ตบแต่งสไตล์ contemporary ดูอบอุ่นและใช้วัสดุที่เป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อม, หมอน-ผ้าห่ม-เตียงนอนนุ่มมาก, อุปกรณ์ห้องน้ำมีครบเซ็ตพร้อมอ่างอาบน้ำ, ไวไฟความเร็วสูงปรี๊ดๆ … ส่วนใครขี้หนาว หมดกังวลค่ะเพราะแอร์ที่นี่ปรับอุณหภูมิได้จริง ซึ่งโรงแรมส่วนมากทั่วประเทศไทยเนี่ยพยายามปรับอุณหภูมิก็แล้ว ปิดแอร์แล้วก็ยังเหมือนเปิด แต่ที่สวูเทลจะปรับแค่ไหนยังไงก็ได้
The staff was genuinely helpful, and their command of the English language made communication a breeze. The hotel also offers free parking, and the location made it easy for us to keep our appointments in the center of the city. Breakfast is available in the hotel, and there’s a Starbucks and a few other restaurants on the ground floor. There are many high-end malls in the area including Terminal 21 and Suan Pakkard Palace, Central Embassy, Emporium –all within a 3-mile radius.
Overall I was impressed with the Swutel Hotel and agree with their tagline that they are a “3-star hotel that is well-equipped-serviced-like-5-star accommodation.”
พนักงานให้บริการที่อบอุ่นเป็นมิตร ไม่ไฮโซเว่อร์วัง มีแต่ความจริงใจและเต็มใจให้บริการด้วยรอยยิ้ม มีมุมอาหารเช้าขนาดเล็กๆ แต่ด้านล่างของอาคารก็มีร้านอาหารและร้านกาแฟสตาร์บัคส์ หรือหากจะไปช้อปปิ้งที่ Terminal 21 ก็ไม่ไกล จะเดินทางไปไหนก็สะดวกทั้งรถไฟฟ้า BTS และ MRT สวูเทลมีบริการที่จอดรถด้วยนะคะ (หนึ่งห้องต่อหนึ่งคัน) … พักในรั้วมหาวิทยาลัยแบบนี้เสียงดังแออัดมั้ย บอกเลยว่าขึ้นไปบนห้องก็ไม่ได้ยินเสียงอะไรแล้วค่ะ แถมวิวเมืองสวยๆ เตียงนุ่มๆ หมอนนิ่มๆ หลับสบายเต็มอิ่มแน่นอน ***รายละเอียดเพิ่มเติม www.swutelhotel.com
